IoT Development Services We Provide

Connected products fail when the device team, the app team, and the cloud team don’t talk to each other. We’re one team across all layers, so your Bluetooth pairing, your mobile dashboard, and your cloud data pipeline all work together from day one.

Device Integration

Bluetooth LE, OBD-II ports, proprietary protocols, medical sensors. We handle device discovery, pairing, connection management, and the firmware communication layer that makes hardware useful.

BLE OBD-II MQTT WiFi

Mobile Companion Apps

Setup wizards, real-time data display, push notifications, offline mode. iOS and Android, React Native when one codebase fits, native Swift/Kotlin when hardware demands it.

React Native Swift Kotlin Offline-first

Cloud Infrastructure

Data ingestion, real-time dashboards, alerts, fleet analytics. AWS IoT Core, Lambda, DynamoDB. Multi-tenant architectures for SaaS IoT platforms.

Cost and Timeline

What IoT Application Development Costs and How Long It Takes

The cost of a connected product lives in the device, not the screens: how many hardware types you support, how they talk (BLE, OBD-II, cellular, Wi-Fi), what happens when the connection drops, and whether the data is regulated. We size it with you before you commit to a build.

Blueprint

From $25K · 2 to 4 weeks

Map the device integration, connectivity, mobile architecture and cloud before you build. Small is $25K over 2 weeks; Medium starts at $50K over 4 weeks. You leave with a scoped plan and a budget.

MVP with device integration

Typically 3 to 6 months

A working device-to-cloud path in real users’ hands: pairing, field setup and real-world conditions, not a lab demo. Kayo launched on three platforms in 6 months.

Production system

Typically 6 to 12 months with compliance

Priced by capacity, or time and materials with a cap. We do not quote fixed-price feature work, because it makes both sides argue about scope instead of the product.

Data Services & AI

Your Devices Generate Data. We Help You Turn It Into a Business.

Connected devices produce enormous volumes of data, sensor readings, usage patterns, location history, environmental conditions. Most of it sits in a database nobody queries. The opportunity is turning that data into products: dashboards, alerts, predictive models, and entirely new business lines.

AI is what makes this possible at scale. Machine learning identifies patterns in sensor data that no human analyst would catch. NLP extracts insights from unstructured field notes. Predictive models turn historical device data into forward-looking intelligence.

We help device companies build data services, new business models, new delivery methods, new revenue streams, on top of the hardware they already have in the field. The device is the platform. The data is the product.

New Business Models

Subscription data services, usage-based pricing, predictive maintenance contracts. We help you define the model and build the platform to deliver it.

AI on Sensor Data

Anomaly detection, predictive analytics, pattern recognition. AI makes sense of data at volumes no team can analyze manually.

Real-Time Dashboards & Alerts

Operational intelligence from device data, not reports from last month, but what’s happening right now and what’s about to happen next.

Data Product Development

Turn raw device data into a product your customers will pay for. We handle the architecture, the UX, and the business model.

Our Method for Connected Products

Discover → Experiment → Engineer → Optimize

Every connected product engagement follows the same method. The difference is what each phase means when hardware is involved.

Discover

Understand the Physical Environment

What devices are in the field? What’s the connectivity like? What breaks when the network drops? We map the physical environment, device constraints, and connectivity challenges before designing anything.

Device assessment · Connectivity mapping · Regulatory landscape

Experiment

Prototype the Device-to-Cloud Path

Connect the device. Push data through the pipeline. Display it in a dashboard. Test in real conditions, not a lab. Does the Bluetooth pairing work in a parking lot? Does the sensor data survive a dead zone?

Integration POC · Field testing · Real-condition validation

Engineer

Build the Full Stack with AI Leverage

Senior architects lead the build. AI accelerates code generation, test automation, and cross-platform tooling. Mobile apps, cloud infrastructure, device communication, all built by one team in two-week sprints.

AI-accelerated dev · Sprint delivery · Cross-platform launch

Optimize

Monitor Device Health in Production

Device health, usage patterns, field reliability, battery life, connectivity success rates. Connected products are never “done”, the data from production tells you what to build next.

Common Questions

IoT Application Development FAQ

What IoT protocols and hardware do you work with?

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), OBD-II, MQTT, HTTP/REST, WebSocket, WiFi, and cellular (LTE-M / NB-IoT). We’ve shipped 8+ connected products integrating with OBD-II vehicle sensors, medical monitoring devices, smart padlocks, and proprietary hardware. We handle device discovery, pairing, connection management, data serialization, and the cross-platform differences between iOS and Android that break most Bluetooth implementations.

Do you build the hardware or just the software?

We build everything the hardware talks to, mobile apps, cloud infrastructure, dashboards, APIs, but we don’t manufacture hardware. We’ve integrated with client-provided devices (Cox 2M’s OBD-II sensors, Leica survey equipment) and helped design the hardware-software interaction from the ground up (Intent Solutions). If you have hardware that needs a software ecosystem, or an idea that needs both, we’ll help you figure out the right approach.

How do you handle device connectivity in the field?

Field connectivity is where most connected products fail. We design for the real world, intermittent Bluetooth connections, dead zones, offline operation, and graceful recovery. Our apps queue data locally, sync when connectivity returns, and handle device disconnection without losing state. We’ve built this into fleet tracking apps that work across rural highways and patient monitoring systems in facilities with spotty WiFi.

Can you integrate with existing sensor networks?

Yes. Many of our IoT engagements start with existing hardware or sensor infrastructure that needs better software. Cox 2M had OBD-II devices but no consumer app. Guardian had vital signs monitors but no mobile interface. We build the software layer, mobile apps, cloud pipelines, dashboards, that turns existing sensors into a usable product.

How do you handle IoT security?

Security is designed in from day one, not bolted on. We implement TLS/SSL for all data in transit, encrypted storage at rest, secure device provisioning, and authenticated firmware communication. For healthcare IoT, we build to HIPAA compliance standards, we’ve done this for Intent Solutions (medication dispensing), Guardian (vital signs), and NeverAlone (remote patient monitoring).

What does an IoT proof of concept look like?

An IoT proof of concept validates the device-to-cloud path in real conditions, not a lab demo. We connect your device (or a representative prototype) to a mobile app, push data through a cloud pipeline, and display it in a dashboard. The goal is to prove the integration works before you invest in the full build. Typically 4-8 weeks. We start most engagements with a Blueprint that maps the full architecture before building the POC.

How long does IoT application development take?

An MVP with device integration typically takes 3-6 months. Kayo launched on 3 platforms in 6 months. Production systems with regulatory compliance run 6-12 months. We work in two-week sprints, so you see working software early, not at the end. Timeline depends on device complexity, number of platforms, regulatory requirements, and how many layers of the ecosystem you need built.
