HYPOTHESIS

Huddle, Inc. distributes millions of printed tickets annually to K-12 school events. They wanted to confirm that high schools were ready to adopt digital ticketing. They also wanted a digital offering to complement their existing ticketing business. Huddle collaborated with Digital Scientists to develop a ticketing platform. Supporting Huddle’s timing and budget requirements, we developed a minimum viable product (MVP). Our goal was to redefine event ticketing, purchasing, monitoring and reporting.

EXPERIMENT

We developed GoFan as a complete K-12 ticketing-platform. GoFan handles event ticketing, purchasing, and reporting for both printed and digital tickets. Event-goers can buy tickets online and from mobile devices. Tickets can be printed in advance or presented on a user’s mobile device (via QR-code) for scanning and admittance into the game.

GoFan uses geolocation to direct app users and site visitors to events near them. The app provides security via real-time syncing, entry validation via QR code scanning, and credit card payment. High School Athletic Directors are able to generate post-event reports that detail purchase statistics, event attendance, and overall sales.

ANALYSIS

GoFan was launched late in the Fall season in a limited market test to four high schools inside the metro Atlanta area. Users were able to purchase and redeem tickets for football games. High school ticket buyers showed a strong interest in adopting GoFan. Some schools showed as much as a 50% adoption rate of digital ticketing with only limited advertisement of the new platform. High school athletic departments found the ability to provide reconciliation reporting for the event (including both printed and digital tickets) very useful.
