Chattahoochee Riverkeeper

Mobile Application to Keep Watch over Our Waters

HYPOTHESIS

Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (CRK) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the Chattahoochee River. They monitor the quality and water levels of the Chattahoochee River. The Riverkeeper wanted to create an app to distribute real time information about the river to its members. We developed a Minimum Viable Product for the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper.

EXPERIMENT

We developed the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper app. It includes enhanced mapping and mobile push notifications. Push notification functionality enables automatic messaging based on bacteria alerts and water levels. The app includes charting of neighborhood watch monitoring stations along the river. Users can report a problem, take a photo and submit it to the Riverkeeper for followup. There is also easy access to view CRK events so users can learn more about becoming members.
