Digital Scientists Designs New Site for Global Child Dental Fund

June 10, 2009

(Pun intended.)  GCD Fund is a charitable oral health task force, comprised of dental professionals from around the world.   They are dedicated to the eradication of childhood cavities and tooth decay.  They work tirelessly to educate communities on oral hygiene, dental technology, and dental best practices.

GCD Fund needed a new website to manage their vast amount of content and multi-national memberships – a simple and elegant front-end design but a true workhorse behind the scenes. We started by switching them to the Drupal content management system. Drupal is a robust platform with excellent community features, including multilevel administration privileges, which is key to the management of the GCD Fund’s national, regional, and institution-based task forces. We designed country-specific group pages, each with their own discussion forums, blogs, resources, and RSS news aggregators. To top it off, we set-up an account with a third-party platform that allows the GCD Fund to accept online donations.

We think the site looks fantastic, but more importantly, we applaud the charitable work of the GCD Fund.
